I thought I would share some photos of my office space. This also works as my studio when I'm working on illustrations. This is a small space, so I knew that I would need a lot of storage. I store a lot of prints and greeting cards. I wanted to create a really warm and cozy space as well. I spend a lot of time in here, and I wanted it to be a place that I looked forward to working in.
I relied pretty heavily on Ikea for most of the furnishing in my space. It looks nice, and it's well priced. I believe that if you treat Ikea furniture well, it will last a long time.
I used three Alex desk drawers from Ikea, to help store supplies. The desk top is also from Ikea. It's two of the Lagkapten desk tops put side by side to create one large desk top. The ask chair is also from Ikea, but they don't make that pink color anymore. I'm mad at myself for not buying two, because if I ever want hire a helper, I'll have to buy a chair in a different color.
I love the Ivar shelf system for keeping my greeting cards organized. These are also from Ikea. The natural wood look keeps with the warm and cozy vibe I'm going for in this space. The white storage boxes are also from Ikea, but they don't make them anymore. I wish they did, because these have seen better days, and I could use some more. I try to keep my cards as organized as possible. It makes packing orders so much easier when I can see them labeled on the outside.
I love this rug that I got from Urban Outfitters. It hides a lot of dirt and its low pile allows for my chair to get over it. 'm also a sucker for anything pink and navy blue.
The chair and ottoman are from Ikea. I spend a lot of time there sleeving cards and listening to true crime podcasts. It's also big enough for my dog, Frasier, to come up and snuggle with me, and it's really comfortable. You can also see she has her own little bed right next to me too.
The paint color on the wall is by Benjamin Moore and it's called 'Mudslide.' I've also painted the ceiling in 'Just Beige' also by Benjamin Moore. The ceiling light is from Wayfair.
I have to say, I am pretty proud of how I've used this space. Ideally, I would love to have a large finished basement to work in. I often feel really cramped and like things are falling on me in this office. However, I've made this space work by keeping it organized and providing a lot of storage space.
